A single guy’s perspective on being single....
Why is it that I am still single? That is a question I keep asking myself.
My last long term relationship ended about 2 years ago. After cracks began to show we couldn’t work things out so we separated. Ever since then whenever Valentine’s Day comes racing around, I can’t help but think of what I had once with her had and more importantly... why I am still single after so long?
Nowadays it seems to me that girls are only interested and attracted to guys that are BAD or give the impression that they are BAD. You know what I mean when I say bad the one’s that have the tough exterior, the bravado and give off that overly confident demeanor. Now I know what I’m talking about because once upon a time I was one of those guy’s.
You ladies like to put on the romantic speech that your looking for a good guy who treats you right and buy’s you flowers just because, and leave notes around the house, but when we do that you ladies TAKE US FOR GRANTED and if you really don’t mind me getting down to the nitty gritty please admit that you start telling your girlfriends that “He loves me up too much, its getting annoying” ...WE MEN CAN’T WIN! When Veyan asked me to contribute from a man’s perspective on being single, I was hesitant but I must say I’m getting into this now!
As a single guy especially around this period, I just want to know one thing WHERE ARE ALL THE SINGLE WOMEN? The good ones that is! Where does a guy have to go to find a good woman that’s relationship material?
I find in my own personal experience that it’s hard to find an attractive woman who is single, I’d like think I have all the smooth words, humour and looks J. I don’t want to be desperate and start calling up these single ads and registering for online dating services, but why can’t a lady give me a sign, like wink at me or give me a smile, I mean If I received a signal like that I’d be in there, but... nothing. Do single women exist anymore? Where do I go? How do I know you are single? What do you want me to do???????
If I had a girl right now I’d make sure everyday was Valentine’s day...The search continues....!

Rashid ... with you putting it out there like that, there’s no way you'll be single for too long. It's crazy because there's a lot of Single Ladies out there asking the same questions. Me personally, I am a single lady asking where are all the single guys and all the other questions you've asked. Up too last night I was spent Valentines with my single lady friends and I starting singing "Where have all the good men gone" :-0 LOL. This is deep and it shows something is not right. We are not giving off the correct vibe, the smile, the wink etc. I find guys just smile but don't approach, do I come across stuck up, does my forehead say Negro PLEASE or Don’t You Even. I don't want to go around winking and smiling at every guy I think is cute and possibly single. That can lead to problems. What are we single ladies giving off that we can't close a great deal. Yeah I can get a guy but we all want THE Guy or THE Girl. So what I’m I giving off, or not giving off? Maybe V needs to do a separate blog called, I can hook u up! Lol. Just like you I don’t know where to go and I can’t even tell you what I am doing wrong/Right. For now I'll continue raising my hand in the air enjoying my song/Anthem “Single Ladies”.
It's so good to hear from a DIVO!
I know exactly what you mean though. I was lucky enough to have older brothers who told me how hard it was to know if a girl was interested in them. They always said to me, if you really like a guy and you think something could come out of it let him know in a subtle way depending on how you know him. That advice always stayed in my head so when I met someone who I thought was special I pinched his bum and said "sorry I couldn't resist", smiled and walked off. Well we're married now!!! So all you women out there don't be scared to let a man know. But remember don't be brazen, keep it subtle. It worked for me!
